Afternoon in the park!

We walked to the park and I took some photos of Logan, Liam and Charlotte. There's an old handball wall and it served as a perfect backdrop.

Cool Picture; Bad Toy

I don't know what the deal is with boys and guns. My boys love to play army, lord of the rings, or anything in which they can brandish a weapon. I got this pic of liam in the backyard in the middle of "war."

 

This picture feels very "Resevoir Dogs"...what a bada$$!

Let's all breathe a collective sigh of relief...

You no longer have to listen to me bitch about not receiving my Chris Isaak CD. It FINALLY came in the mail! I'm listening to it as we speak (or I write...)

 

It is excellent! It has more of a country feel to it, but I still love it. I only wish I could have flown (flew? flied? Seriously, I SHOULDN'T be teaching English) to San Fran to see him live on Monday at Amoeba Records. Oh well.

If anyone is interested in knitting, check out my etsy site in the next few days. I'm going to be posting ALL the knitting books that I have purchased in hopes of making some cool things. The problem is, which no one ever told me, that you can't follow a pattern if you are left-handed. I tried, believe me. I would have to knit right-handed in order to follow a pattern...um, not happening. I only have my 1st grade teacher to blame: she forced me to write with my right hand for a whole year. Once I got out of her class, I refused to write "proper" and started up with my left hand again. However, I digress.

Find a happy place, find a happy place...

This is my new happy place. It's in the SD children's museum. It is a little "house" made out of old books. I would love to take a blanket, a good book (since I couldn't slip one out of the wall) and a cup of Starbucks and curl up inside and read. I wanted to take this little house home.

   

I know I look like a dork in this next picture...

 

I would put this little house next to the rain house they also have at this museum. In case you don't remember, it looks like this. The roof is made of metal with a sprinkler "raining" down. Hard to describe, easy to enjoy.

On the job front, everything is up in the air. Thanks to those who have really showed some concern and have emailed me with advice. I have to wait and see what happens over the next week or so. There is nothing to do but to wait. I'm so bad at waiting (case in point: my Chris Isaak CD hasn't come yet and I've mentioned it about a dozen times!)

Looks are deceiving.

Charlotte looks like such a sweet, lovable dog. Right? Well, looks are definitely deceiving. She terrorizes the children, pees in the house, and rips up everything in sight. Just as I'm ready to get rid of her, she pops her ears up and tips her head to the side, saying "look, I AM cute. How can you get rid of such cuteness?"

 

 

 

 

We've signed her up for puppy training class through Petco. Hopefully it will help.

Polaroid Love

There is a website where you can turn any digital picture into a polaroid. It's Poladroid. It's cool if you don't have a polaroid camera (which I do because I took it from Haily), but love the look of the old fashioned polaroids (which I DO!)

Since 12/30, our little world has been turned into chaos. Having a puppy is a lot of work. More than I thought. I think we are getting into the swing of it, just as we have to go back to work. Luckily, I think the neighbor is going to come over during the day and check on Charlotte.

We took her to the vet and it turns out she had bacteria in her stomach. The breeder (if you could even call him that!) didn't take very good care of his dogs. I'm so glad we saved Charlotte from that man!

New Year's Eve was pretty low key at my sister's house. Michelle came over, but I think she thought we were pretty boring. Oh well. That's life with two kids! We don't party much anymore.

I'm looking forward to the new year. Hopefully this year will be a good one!
